This content is based on Cyanview's official manuals. Always check the official page for the latest information and precise specifications.

Typical issues and solutions are also collected in the Troubleshooting section.

CI0 Does Not Start

A properly functioning CI0 should be in the following state:

  • RJ45 green LED: solid on (100Mbps operation)
  • RJ45 amber LED: blinking (link activity)
  • Screen display: >-< or <-> with a number

Steps to take:

  1. Check the wiring. Connect CI0 and RCP/GWY to the same switch.
  2. Reset the RCP/RIO/GWY configuration to check that the CI0 is detected properly.
  3. If using PoE, try switching to a 12V DC power supply.
  4. If already using 12V DC, try a different power supply.

Forcing a Firmware Update

RCP/GWY/RIO must be on the same network.

  1. Hold the 2 buttons pressed while you power the CI0 on.
  2. Release the buttons after 5 seconds.
  3. If the LED blinks, the device is in bootloader state.
  4. It will recover after a maximum of 1 minute and return to the >-< display.

Power Supply Issues

If camera control becomes intermittently degraded or the device keeps restarting, switch from PoE to a dedicated external power supply. A dedicated power supply is also recommended when using equipment that causes large power spikes during initialization (e.g. a Dreamchip ATOM 4K with a motorized lens). If multiple cameras are connected to the CI0, disconnect them all and reconnect them one at a time to isolate the issue.

CI0 Screen Shows "X"

This means CI0 is unable to communicate with RCP/RIO over the network.

  • Check the wiring.
  • Check the network connection (verify the green/yellow LEDs on the Ethernet port are lit/blinking).
  • Check whether port 3838/UDP is being blocked.

Camera Won't Power On and the Screen Is Dark

This is a bug on old CI0 units with software 21.10.

  1. Upgrade RCP/GWY to version 21.11.1 or later, which includes the fix (see Product Updates).
  2. Follow the steps on this page to force a CI0 firmware update.
