LanSee offers a range of devices to transport video and IP over fiber. This page shows the integration of the LanSee SMPTE module with:

  • A Canon B4 lens
  • A camera (here a Dreamchip SSM500)
  • A Cyanview CI0 to control the camera and the lens
  • An RCP to shade the camera (+ lens control)

It also shows the integration with the router/switcher and the Cyanview ecosystem:

  • LanSee ingests multiple video inputs
  • The camera operator pushes buttons on the lens
  • The Cyanview RCP switches the video signals directly inside the LanSee

Wiring

LanSee wiring

Camera Side

  • The CI0 is powered by PoE directly from the LanSee, and powers/controls the lens and camera
  • Depending on the mode, the Dreamchip SSM500 outputs:
    • 2 x SDI in trigger mode (replay done internally on SSD): one live, one replay
    • 4 x SDI in SSM mode (EVS): 4 phases for replay
  • The LanSee ingests all SDI signals and provides one SDI out for the monitor

CCU Side

LanSee:

  • 1 x SDI input from the switcher/router (program, preview, etc.)
  • 2 x SDI (trigger mode: live and replay) or 4 x SDI (SSM mode with EVS: 4 phases for replay)
  • 1 x Ethernet for the RCP link

The RCP connects to the CI0 and the LanSee via Ethernet.

Setup

This page does not cover:

  • Dreamchip SSM500 integration (see the SSM500 page on the official site)
  • B4 lens integration (see Integrating a B4 Lens)

This setup works with any camera/lens combination.

In addition to your existing camera/lens configuration, create three additional "Not controlled" cameras. They serve as "virtual" cameras to switch the LanSee inputs.

  1. In the "Components" section of the RCP Web UI, click "+".

  2. Select "Router/Switcher".

    Selecting Router/Switcher

  3. Select "AVMatrix".

  4. Complete the information (name, IP, linked cameras, etc.).

It should look like this:

Then follow the B4 lens button mapping guide (B4 Ret) on the official site to configure the lens buttons. You can now press the lens buttons to toggle the video signal on the LanSee. For router integration in general, see also Integrating a Video Router.
