RCP Troubleshooting

If the RCP Cannot Be Found on the Network
The touchscreen stays on "Connecting..."
This may indicate a configuration issue rather than a network issue. A typical cause is that the RCP has been removed from the RCP block in the Controllers section of the Configuration Web UI. Add it back, or reset the RCP configuration to restore the default controller entries.

The screen works, but you cannot reach the RCP from a PC
If, after booting, the touchscreen shows the camera list and live values, the internal networking on the factory 10.192.0.0/16 network is working (the panel is communicating with the main camera control application).
In this case, you should be able to ping the RCP's factory IP (10.192.X.Y, derived from the serial number) from a computer configured with a static IP in the same range. See "Initial IP configuration of Cyanview devices" in the IP Primer.
- If the ping fails: the Ethernet interface to the internal switch is likely damaged. Contact the support team for an RMA (see RMA Procedure).
- Temporary workaround: plug a USB-Ethernet dongle into the RCP. The dongle is configured for DHCP by default, so on a DHCP-enabled network you can find its IP address in your DHCP server's leases and use it to access the RCP (see "USB dongles" in IP Configuration).
Forced Upgrade Procedure
Use this procedure when a normal update cannot be performed.
- Unplug the power (remove the RJ45 cable if powered by PoE, or the 12V supply if using external power).
- Press and hold the "lock" / "power" button (a single button, top left).
- Keep it pressed while you plug the power back in, and release it once a loading screen appears.
- Wait a couple of minutes. The RCP loads the upgrade, reboots, and reloads the camera list and values.
Test Mode (Hardware Check)
An internal test mode for checking each physical button and encoder (rotary knob).
- Press the LOCK button to go to the POWER menu (or MENU → SYSTEM → POWER).
- Press the SCREEN OFF button. The panel switches off and only the LOCK button stays lit.
- Press and hold the MENU button while pressing the LOCK button. The hardware check menu opens.
- In this menu you can test all encoders, buttons, the touchscreen, and so on.
- To exit, press the LOCK button and release it after the beep stops.
